Dear Parents and Students,
The 2026-2027 Elective Course Selection Forms for G8-G11 have been distributed today. Please review the following key information and ensure the form is returned on time. (Friday, May 22, 2026 )
1. Course Program Overview
Students must select their elective courses based on one of the following two options:

Option A: Two courses from the 2-3 hour courses. (General Course)

Option B: One course from the 5-6 hour courses. (AP Course)
2. Advanced Placement (AP) Policies

Mandatory Exam: Students enrolled in an AP course are required to participate in the official AP examination held in May.

G9 Requirement: All 9th-grade students must obtain a teacher recommendation to enroll in any AP course. Students who do not meet qualifications will not be permitted to enroll.

Add/Drop Deadline: Students may not add or drop AP courses after the first three weeks of the school year. Any changes after this deadline will be reflected on the academic transcript.
3. Information for Current G8 Parents (Rising G9)

Fine Arts Requirement: Students must earn one (1) credit in Fine and Performing Arts for graduation. The school strongly recommends completing this requirement in the 9th grade

Course Ranking: For Fine and Performing Arts, please rank your top 4 choices (1 to 4) to ensure placement in case of high demand.

Extracurriculars: Please note that extracurricular clubs and events do not count toward these credit hours.
4.Enrollment & Cancellations

Minimum Enrollment: Courses may be cancelled if they do not meet the minimum requirement (3 students for AP, 5 students for General Education).

Alternatives: If your first-choice course is not offered, you will be required to select an alternative from the remaining options.
