Admission Qualifications
One. The employee working for a company located in Southern Taiwan Science Park. The applicant must have one of the following requirements:
(1) Citizens of Taiwan returning to Taiwan to start a new job. The applicants have either a Master’s degree with five years of overseas professional experience or a Ph.D degree. The child(ren) of the applicants must have an overseas stay for two consecutive years or longer, and return to Taiwan within a year. (Admission application must be filed within three years after return to Taiwan).
(2) Alien Employees without Taiwan citizenship.
(3) Citizens of Taiwan deployed overseas for at least two years. The child(ren) of the applicants must have an overseas stay for two consecutive years or longer, and return to Taiwan within a year. (Admission application must be filed within three years after return to Taiwan).
TWO: Children of diplomates of Taiwan government..
THREE. For employee working in a company outside Southern Taiwan Science Park.
(1). Citizens of Taiwan hired by private or public university or colleges, academic research institutes, or high-tech companies must have all the following requirements:
(i) Either the job location or the home residency is in either Tainan or Kaohsiung area. (Admission application must be filed within three years after return to Taiwan). The recognition of “ high-tech company ” follow the specific regulations set by the Ministry of Economics.
(ii) Must have either a Master’s degree with five years of overseas professional experience or a Ph.D. degree.
(iii) The child(ren) of the applicants must have an overseas stay for two consecutive years or longer, and return to Taiwan within a year.
(2) Alien workers
(i) Must be employed by a private or public university, college or academic research institutes in either Tainan or Kaohsiung area.
(ii) Must have either a Master’s degree with five years of professional experience or a Ph.D degree.
(3). Citizens of Taiwan recruited abroad by Ministry of Science and Technology. The child(ren) of the applicants must have an overseas stay for two consecutive years or longer,, and return to Taiwan within a year.
FOUR. Student applicant who has older siblings currently enrolled in IBST. The applicant returns and resides in Taiwan less than five years
FIVE. Student applicants currently enrolled in another Science Park bilingual schools. Entrace assessment would be administered for admission decision.
Six: If a student applicant meets the admission requirement and ages between five and half years and six years old as of September 1, the applicant should pass the test Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence-Revised (WPPSI-R) carried out by a public hospital, and fulfill the regulations for early admission for the gifted.
For any grade levels with the student number less than 80% of maximum capacity, the following admission regulations apply until 80% of capacity is reached.
The conditional admission policy is effective until July 31, 2025, and only applies to certain grade levees depending on the enrollment status.

(2) Citizens of Taiwan deployed overseas for at least one year. The child(ren) of the applicants must have an one year overseas stay or longer, and return to Taiwan less than eight years.
TWO: For employee working in a company outside Southern Taiwan Science Park:
Citizens of Taiwan hired by private or public university or colleges, academic research institutes, or high-tech companies. The job location or the home residency of applicants must be in Tainan or Kaohsiung area. The recognition of “ high-tech company ” follows the specific regulations set by the Ministry of Economics. Applicants must have either a master’s degree with two years of overseas professional experience or a Ph.D. degree. The child(ren) of applicants must have an one year overseas stay or longer, and return to Taiwan less than eight years.
THREE: Student applicant who has older siblings currently enrolled in IBST.
FOUR: Non-resident alien residing in the Kaohsiung or Tainan area can apply admission for their children. The tuition fee is determined by the school on a yearly basis.
If students enrolled under this conditional policy apply to transfer to another Science Park schools, their qualifications need to be reviewed by the transfer school.
Submit the following documents to IBST administration office:
(1) application form IBST Application Form
(2) a certificate of Entry and Exit Dates for parents from National Immigration Agency (alien employees must submit a copy of passport inside front cover and photograph page)
(3) a certificate of Entry and Exit Dates for children from National Immigration Agency (Alien children must submit the passport copies)
(4) a copy of your child’s school report card or transcript of the previous two years (those applying for first and second grade must submit document that shows past schooling)
(5) a copy of the employment verification and a copy of the labor’s insurance card with company’s seal.
(6) a copy of parent’s diplomas
(7) a document verifying five-year-oversea job experience （ Only for applicants who have a Master degree ）
(8) Household Certificate(戶口名簿)
(9) a copy of ARC (applicable alien applicants)
(10) a document verifying LIFT program participation. (Only for the relevant applicants)
(11) one 2-inch ID picture
Please note, for items (2) to (10), the original documents need to be provided for verification, and would be returned after checking.
All qualified applicants need to pass the Entrance Assessment (in English) for enrollment.
Applicants of Grades 1-2 : Oral interview only.
Applicants of Grades 3 and above : Oral interview and written test.
Written tests include three parts: vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension.Students with the same level of English abilities as native English speakers can pass the entrance assessment.
