1. Purpose:
   1. Identify Competent Participants: Students who demonstrate proficiency in English language skills, effective communication, and public speaking.
   2. Select Skilled Participants: Evaluate participants' speaking abilities, ensuring that those selected to advance possess the necessary skills and qualities.
   3. Ensure High Standards: Aim to maintain high standards in the main event, providing an enriching and competitive experience for all involved.
2. Participants: Grade 7-8 students / Grade 9 in IBST.
3. Time and Venue:
   1. Registration Period: Open now and continues until Monday, February 19, 2024.
   2. Contest Venue: 2^nd floor Music Room
   3. Event Date: Friday, February 23, 2024 12:45 PM - 1:30 PM
4. Procedure:
   1. Topic: Participants choose one topic from the following list of their preference for the competition.
      1. The Influence of Social Media
      2. The Importance of Teamwork
      3. The Power of Imagination
      4. The Secret to Success
      5. The Future of Artificial Intelligence.
   2. Time: Each person is limited to 3 minutes. 
5. Judging Criteria:
   Include 2-3 IBST Language Arts teachers to be the judges.
   1. Pronunciation (Intonation/Tone): 40%
   2. Content (Insight/Structure/vocabulary): 50%
   3. Demeanor (Appearance/Attitude/Expression): 10% 
6. Result: Judges will select a representative from Grade 7 and 8, and another from Grade 9 to represent IBST in the Tainan City Mayor Cup Language competition. 
   1. Contest Date: 21st April, 2024 (Sunday)
   2. Location: 東區崇民國小 Tainan Municipal East District Chongming Elementary School (No. 698, Chongming Road, East District, Tainan City.)
